The question we get most often is: “Won't my kid get burned?” We answer it straight, because it's a good question.
Soldering needs an adult nearby and a few simple rules: a stable mat, the soldering iron always back in its stand, an open window and lead-free solder. With those in place, a six-year-old can do it — right next to you.

Is a soldering iron included?
No — and that's a deliberate choice, not cost-cutting. A cheap soldering iron tossed into the box doesn't hold its temperature and can ruin a kid's first experience with electronics for good. If you don't have your own, you'll find a proper soldering kit in our store, chosen specifically for these projects.
What age are these kits for?

6+ with an adult, 11+ on their own. It's not a rigid age limit, just honest guidance: what matters is how tricky the connections are and whether there's an adult nearby, not just your kid's age.

Soldering takes rules, not fear. We use lead-free solder, the iron always goes back into a metal stand, there should be a mat underneath, and it's a good idea to keep a window open while you work. Safety glasses and a mat can be bought separately.

We won't pretend you can't buy cheaper — you can. The difference is what you get besides the package: real support when something doesn't work, clear age guidance, a registered company with a tax ID and address, and 30 days for returns. With a marketplace kit, you're on your own with the problem.
